Process of creating a website

Creating a quality website is a complex process that never ends. It is therefore very important to get familiar with the stages of development so you wouldn't think that the process came to an end when the website is on your server, which is wrong.

The process of creating website, solutions "turnkey", rather than a filling template is consists of 7 stages:

1. Gathering project informations

It should be taken into account a number of factors, from the history that the client has behind him, to business goals and ideas.

Most important:

Purpose: what purpose a website should meet as informative, educational or sales?
Objectives: What is the ultimate goal of the page, is it profit, sharing information, online business card or something else?
Target group: is there a specific group of users that should be the main group, who is the "ideal" user, his gender, age, interests? These are all factors that will affect the visual concept of the page
Content: What content will be presented to users? Are they looking for specific information and services?

2. Planning

The information gathered in the previous stage are first being analysed in this and creates a plan of developing the site. At this stage, the website map is defining with a list of all the main links and their sublinks (if any) of the items within the individual. This is the basic guiding for designer when viewing the content and their organization. It is very important that diverse content is uniformed while displaying, that the navigation is clear and consistent so the user would not get lost on the website or skip an essential part of the content. Some specialists in this stage analyze created documentation and create a timetable that is presented to the client.

3. Design

Relying on a data collected in the first phase, the organization and pages map from the second phase we can begin to define the look and feel of the website. For first exemplar, mock-up is created with an example of website appearance and elements layout. With that you start to define some boundaries in creating process. At this stage, the communication is the most important factor for a good site, which means to delegate right and responsible people for collaboration.

4. Programming

Development, or developing (programming) website is the phase that begins once the client approves the design. Developers turn static website image into a dynamic web page.

And it takes place in two sub-phases that run parallel:

Frontend Development - refers to the development of the website "skelet" , or turning static images into HTML / CSS
Backend development - refers to database development, administration, and of course merging dynamic content in HTML

5. Creating and filling the content

If the website is nice looking and has a good design, then the user will stay longer and feel comfortable while browsing.

However, content is the key, which is created by someone who is not copying it from other various contents, but it’s made depending on project, requirements and client specifications and is far more valuable than copied. The reason is that the user sees a unique information, which shows that we are not only one of "resellers" of some service and in addition, the user receives informations concerning him directly.

6. Testing and delivery

Today, users access the web through a large number of devices, from cell phones, notebooks, tablet to the desktop computer and it is important to check display on different devices. When the test is completed and the changes iteration worked out, it is time to deliver and activate the website.

7. Maintenance and update
